Welcome to my blog! I’m Mathilde, and like many of you, I too was going through the motions – school, university, a stable job, and so on – until the world came suddenly came to a stop. The pandemic gave me time to sit with myself and re-evaluate my choices in life, and I came to a simple decision. I wanted to be a lifestyle blogger… in Paris. Yep, so I left my job and packed up my things to move to my dream city, and have lived there since.
I’ve been in love with Paris since the first time I came here; I had very little money and almost no clue about anything. But even then, I had the best time of my life here. And then it all went away, its place taken by responsibilities and a career and the expectations of making it in life as an independent woman. I did not even realize that I had lost it for the longest time. The entire world had to shut down for me to take note of it.
But I did… and now ‘it’ is back! I’m back! And this is my life story!
Why this site?
Now that I’m here at the precipice of culture, fashion, and lifestyle – I spend my free time writing for Jefferson in Paris. This blog is a labour of love, through and through. I want to talk about living the good life, spending your time wisely, and with the people you hold dear. Growing up, I made more than my share of mistakes – with regard to relationships, my health, and life in general – but it was good because they all taught me important life lessons, which I want to turn into helpful guidance for you guys.
This blog is for all the women who want to feel their best, all the men who want advice on relationships and love, all the moms at home who want to make the most of their time, and so much more. My posts will always be well-researched, first-hand accounts, trusted second-hand accounts, and the quickest route to the latest trends you’ll find on the internet.
Chesterton once wrote, “London is a riddle. Paris is an explanation.”
